Is the 2024 Volvo S60 a good car?

The 2024 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s core strengths: safety, comfort, and a distinctly Scandinavian sense of style. It has long been positioned as an alternative to the usual German rivals, and this generation continues that role with a modern design, high-quality materials, and a cabin that emphasizes calm, understated luxury.

Standard equipment is generous, with a panoramic moonroof, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 9-inch touchscreen handling media and climate functions. The seats remain a major part of the appeal, and the available Contour seats are a notable highlight.

For shoppers who want a premium sedan that feels thoughtfully designed, well equipped, and safety-focused without losing its distinctive character, the S60 fits that brief well. 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Volvo S60 reliable?

The 2024 Volvo S60 stands out as a compact luxury sedan that leans hard into Volvo’s core strengths: safety, comfort, and a distinctly Scandinavian sense of style. Volvo’s City Safety collision avoidance system comes standard, and the S60 also earned IIHS Top Safety Pick+ recognition in 2021 and 2022.

That combination of standard safety equipment and a comfort-first cabin makes it appealing if you want a premium sedan that feels thoughtfully engineered for everyday use. For long-term ownership, you should still plan for the usual used-luxury-car maintenance and be especially careful about how well the car has been serviced over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Volvo S60?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a vehicle history report and verify that the car’s maintenance records are complete. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the brakes, tires, electronics, and any driver-assistance features you plan to use regularly. Focus on overall condition and service history, since a well-kept example is the best way to reduce surprises later.

• Deal availability: 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 700 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.43% year-over-year.

What is the 2024 Volvo S60's resale value?

The current average of $30,870 sits slightly above last year's $30,137.

That tells you the market has held up reasonably well, which is a positive sign if you plan to resell later. The year-over-year increase suggests steady demand rather than a softening market, so a well-kept example should remain competitive if you maintain it properly and keep mileage and condition in check.

Should I buy a 2024 Volvo S60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 90.1% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.43% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2024 is a strong choice if you want the streamlined lineup, generous standard equipment, and a market with decent deal availability. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point, but the 2024 remains the better fit if you value a newer used example with strong safety credentials and a well-equipped cabin.
