Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning stands out because it brings full-size electric-truck capability to a familiar F-Series package, and it is aimed at traditional truck buyers rather than early adopters. It also offers practical EV utility such as a front trunk, bi-directional charging, and Pro Power Onboard, while still looking and feeling close to a gas F-150. That said, its range limitations mean it fits you best if you want an electric truck for everyday use, tailgating, camping, or job-site power rather than frequent long-distance travel. 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning is described as a well-equipped electric truck with a strong list of safety equipment, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitors, lane-keep assist, post-collision braking, and high-beam assist. It also adds a vapor-injection heat pump as standard to help stabilize range in cold weather. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic truck usability and more about whether the battery range and charging fit your driving and towing needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report on any listing you are seriously considering, even when the market looks clean. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks charging equipment, battery-related warnings, and overall electrical-system operation. Focus on condition details that matter most for an EV truck, including tire wear, brake feel, cabin electronics, and whether the truck’s range and charging setup match your daily routine.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 557 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.82% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 93.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $48,244, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning's resale value?

The current average of $49,665 sits slightly below last year's $51,107.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the broader trend continues. If you plan to sell later, the strongest value case will come from a truck that stays clean, well documented, and aligned with buyer expectations for condition and equipment. Because the model has broad appeal among truck shoppers who want EV utility, demand should remain tied closely to how well the truck fits practical use cases.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 93% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.82% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2024 if you want the most current version of this truck’s electric-truck utility and you value a market with decent deal availability and strong clean-inventory share. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 is the better starting point if you want the strongest mix of satisfaction, inventory quality, and current pricing.
