How much does the 2025 Ford Maverick cost?

Prices have softened 4.06% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,756 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick a good car?

Generally — the 2025 Ford Maverick earns a 4.4/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its practicality, comfortable seating, good fuel economy, and spacious cabin. The Maverick’s compact-truck packaging and updated tech also fit buyers who want truck usefulness without moving up to a larger pickup. On the other hand, the price has climbed, advanced safety features are not standard, and the touchscreen-heavy controls can be frustrating. The Maverick remains a strong fit if you want a small truck with everyday usability and a more modern feel than before. Good and great deals account for 32.0% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels practical, comfortable, and good on fuel, with many owners also highlighting the spacious cabin and modern features. That combination suggests you can count on it as an everyday vehicle, especially if you value efficiency and usability. The expert review also describes the Maverick as pleasant to drive and practical, with the hybrid setup helping it stay efficient in regular use. Ford’s hybrid powertrain warranty coverage adds some reassurance for ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the truck’s equipment and condition match the asking price, since value has softened from last year.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.

You should still run a history report and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with more equipment. Focus on overall condition, how the controls work in daily use, and whether the truck’s features match the trim you want. Because the Maverick’s value proposition has shifted, it makes sense to compare condition carefully against price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base XL is the simplest version, while XLT and Lariat add more equipment and nicer finishes. The base trim also misses some of the convenience and driver-assistance upgrades that appear higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The standard hybrid uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with a single electric motor and CVT, while the optional 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder brings more power. The hybrid is the efficiency-focused choice, and the Lobo uses a unique seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360-style driver assistance is not fully standard across the lineup. The base XL gets forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams, while lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control require higher trims.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 13.2-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-inch digital instrument cluster. Ford also uses touchscreen controls for some climate and seat functions, which may be worth testing before you buy.
• Fuel efficiency: The base FWD hybrid returns 42 mpg city and 35 mpg highway, while the AWD hybrid is rated at 40 mpg city and 34 mpg highway. The 2.0-liter turbo-four is rated at 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway in XL, XLT, and Lariat form.

Which 2025 Ford Maverick trim should I buy?

The 2025 Ford Maverick is offered in 5 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, Tremor, and Lobo.

Here's the short version:

• XL: This is the value play if you want the Maverick’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. It gives you the basic truck formula, the standard hybrid powertrain, and the essentials, but it also leaves out some of the nicer convenience and safety upgrades found higher up.
• XLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds meaningful equipment without pushing the Maverick too far upmarket. It’s the trim to target if you want a more balanced mix of features and price.
• Lariat: Choose this if you want the most polished mainstream Maverick experience. It adds more upscale touches and is also one of the trims that unlocks more advanced driver assistance.
• Tremor: This is the off-road-focused choice, with dedicated suspension tuning, all-terrain tires, skid plates, and AWD hardware. It’s the right pick if you want the Maverick to lean more toward trail use than everyday commuting.
• Lobo: This is the enthusiast pick if you want the Maverick’s street-truck character. It adds lowered suspension, unique styling, and handling-focused hardware, making it the most distinctive trim in the lineup.

Adaptive cruise control is limited to the Lariat and Tremor, so if that feature matters to you, shop accordingly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Ford Maverick?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,756 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 92.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,506, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Ford Maverick's resale value?

The current average of $31,657 sits slightly below last year's $32,998.

That softer pricing suggests the Maverick has already absorbed some of its recent market cooling, which can help future buyers but may temper short-term resale gains for current owners. If you buy at the right price now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation later. The model’s strong practicality and efficient hybrid setup should continue to support demand, especially among shoppers looking for a compact truck. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Ford Maverick safe?

The 2025 Maverick earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in rollover crash testing and five-star ratings in frontal and side crash tests. It received a top “Good” rating in the updated side crash test from IIHS, but only a “Marginal” rating in the updated moderate overlap front test, along with an “Acceptable” headlight rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford’s standard driver-assistance setup includes forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams on the base XL. Lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning move up to the XLT, while adaptive cruise control with lane-centering and stop-and-go functions is reserved for the Lariat and Tremor. A 360-degree camera system is also available for 2025. The IIHS front-crash result is the main caveat to keep in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2025 Ford Maverick or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is excellent at 92.2% — clean inventory, standard diligence applies.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2025 model adds styling and tech updates, plus the Maverick Lobo performance variant and an all-wheel drive hybrid.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest Maverick with updated tech, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is lower purchase price, a nearby model year may still make more sense, especially if you’re willing to give up some of the latest updates and trim variety.
