Why it stands out
The 2022 Nissan Titan may not be the best-selling full-size pickup truck, but it deserves more attention. It stands out with a stylish design and a quiet cabin, giving it a more polished feel than its overlooked reputation might suggest. For buyers shopping the full-size pickup segment, that combination of presence and refinement is part of its appeal.
The 2022 Nissan Titan is available in King Cab and Crew Cab configurations, and it comes with a standard 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine. Rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are both offered, and the truck starts at $38,810. It also earns points for excellent value for money, though its poor fuel economy is a drawback, and a manual transmission is not available.

Great truck. I love its look and all the features it came with. I have a 2005 Titan and am sold on the brand. That was the main motivation for buying a new one. This was a no-brainer for me. Great towing capacity, impressive ground clearance, luxurious spacious comfortable interior, and great power with its 400hp 5.7 liter engine. I highly recommend anyone looking for a truck to check out the Titan.

| Metric | Value |

| Year-Round High | $31,522.81 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $31,458 |

Prices have softened 5.30% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.
There are 889 listings available, which suggests you have a workable amount of inventory to compare.
If you find a listing below $28,764.25, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2022 Nissan Titan a good car?
Yes — the 2022 Nissan Titan earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.
It stands out as a full-size pickup with a stylish design, a quiet cabin, and a more polished feel than its overlooked reputation might suggest. For you, that means it can make sense if you want a truck that feels refined without giving up the traditional full-size pickup formula.
One trade-off is that it is not especially flexible compared with some rivals, and poor fuel economy is another drawback. Even so, the Titan’s strong value-for-money angle helps offset those compromises if you prioritize comfort and straightforward capability.
31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2022 Nissan Titan reliable?
Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Titan’s standard V8 powertrain and conventional truck hardware point to a simple, familiar setup, and the expert notes emphasize that it is pleasant to drive and well suited to everyday use. The truck also comes across as well equipped for its mission, with standard safety features and a cabin designed to be comfortable for regular driving.
Its poor fuel economy is the main ownership drawback to keep in mind, especially if you plan to rack up a lot of miles. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term risk is higher running costs rather than a lack of capability.
What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Nissan Titan?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace a proper records review. Put extra inspection priority on the cabin, exterior condition, and any signs of hard use, especially if the truck was used for towing or daily work. It is also smart to confirm that the equipment level matches what you expect from the trim you are considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base S trim leaves out some convenience and tech features that show up higher in the lineup, while upper trims add more comfort and equipment.
- Powertrain: The Titan uses a 5.6-liter gasoline V8 with a nine-speed automatic transmission, and it is tuned for strong output rather than fuel savings.
- Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and rear automatic braking.
- Infotainment: An 8-inch center display is standard, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a 9-inch touchscreen is available on higher trims.
- Fuel efficiency: RWD models are estimated at 16 mpg city/21 mpg highway/18 mpg combined, while 4WD models rate at 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway/18 mpg combined.
Which 2022 Nissan Titan trim should I buy?
The 2022 Nissan Titan is offered in 5 trim levels: S, SV, Pro-4X, Platinum Reserve, and Crew Cab.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The S is the most affordable entry point, but you give up some of the nicer tech and comfort upgrades found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The SV is the best value if you want a more balanced mix of equipment and price without jumping to the premium models.
- Premium/top trim: The Platinum Reserve is the most upscale choice, with the richest feature set and the most polished feel.
- Off-road trim: The Pro-4X is the one to choose if you want off-road hardware, but its setup is less necessary for typical daily driving.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard across the lineup, so even the lower trims start with a strong safety foundation.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Nissan Titan?
The market looks moderate and selective, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay patient.
- Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 889 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 81.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $28,764.25, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2022 Nissan Titan's resale value?
The current average of $29,790 sits slightly below last year's $31,458.
That softer pricing suggests the Titan is currently in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you are shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level rather than broad market momentum alone.
Because the model has a strong user rating, it should continue to attract interest from shoppers who want a comfortable, straightforward full-size truck. That kind of demand can help support resale value over time, especially for well-kept examples.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2022 Nissan Titan safe?
The Titan received top “Good” ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in all but the “small overlap front: passenger-side” crash test, where it received an “Acceptable” rating. It also earned “Superior” ratings for front crash prevention tech, both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian.
It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.
Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, and rear automatic braking. The truck also includes standard intelligent forward collision warning and eight airbags.
One caveat is that the standard halogen reflector headlights on the S and SV trims received a “Poor” rating, while the available LED headlights on higher trims were not rated. That makes trim choice especially important if safety equipment is a priority for you.
Should I buy a 2022 Nissan Titan or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2022 if:
- 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 81.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.30% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2022 keeps the Titan’s polished cabin, strong V8 power, and standard safety package.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $30,463, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $29,790 average.
- It brings a strong mix of standard power, technology, and safety features.
The bottom line: The 2022 is the better starting point if you want the lower average price and a market that is leaning in your favor. If you are price-sensitive, the 2021 can still be worth a look, but the 2022 gives you the cleaner value story right now.
