Is the 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty reliable?

Owners rate it 4.2/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as durable, dependable, and capable of handling demanding use, which is exactly what you want from a heavy-duty truck. The review summary also points to strong power and overall toughness, both of which support confidence in long-term ownership. For used buyers, the main risk is that a truck built for hard work may have seen harder use than the average vehicle, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

At 65.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck was used for towing, hauling, or commercial work. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of heavy-duty wear rather than just mileage alone.

What is the 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $30,525 sits slightly below last year's $33,102.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy a well-kept example at the right price so you have less depreciation left to absorb. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction tend to stay in demand, especially when they have the capability buyers want in a heavy-duty pickup.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford F-350 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 28.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want a heavy-duty truck with proven capability, good owner satisfaction, and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby older year may be worth a look, but the 2016 is the better all-around pick if you want a more refined version of this generation without moving up to a newer and typically pricier truck.
